 I believe it was a deliberate decision for the field to live in that
 dropdown, though I'd be in favor of a standalone Log Off button/link on
 mobile devices.

 The dropdown is accessible on touch devices via a swipe, but it mostly
 comes down to whether it needs to be ''that'' readily available.
