 I don't think this is possible; if the browser records state as a full
 refresh, `history.go( -1 * numberOfChanges )` will, in turn, trigger a
 full refresh. Plus, this could cause additional edge cases in non-history
 compliant browsers.

 I'll land the ajax fix shortly.
