 Would love to see a new human_time_diff added to core. I went about
 writing my own function based of the original which you can find here:
 http://pastebin.com/7zffa3Wn

 I wish I had looked here first before writing this. Anyway take a look at
 my simple approach that is working for me, maybe you can use some of it.
