 Beat me to the punch - was fixing up specificity and took out the rest of
 the orange on a plane last night :P

 Put some comments in. I guess you'd probably minimize the served version
 anyway.

 Attaching a revised version that should address the issues and also puts
 the mobile/responsive stuff at the bottom. I made the nav menu on-state
 blue and then used the highlight color for BuddyPress and bbPress, but
 it'd also be fine as {{{#333}}} for all of them instead. If you don't use
 the menu much, you/I can reduce or take out the vertical padding for the
 menu items in the responsive part to save some space.
