Comment:

 Thanks kawauso I have applied simple_groupby_modified_simpler.10964.diff
 but seems to have no effect on my large database.  Mysqld still hogging
 CPU on hits to index.php.  Can you confirm your patch will also work on WP
 v3.1 ?  Or perhaps someone knows what version patch will work for v3.1?
