Comment:

 There are actually two problems: cannot dismiss pointers and uploader not
 working in IE7.

 The uploader is using either Silverlight or Flash on IE, could you check
 what's installed in that IE7 you found the problem on, and the versions.
 Perhaps see whether Silverlight or Flash need updating there as well.
