Comment:

 I'm currently testing gray and blue themes within the admin itself. Will
 post when tested.

 Thought: Themeroller uses images for background gradients (and flat ones
 too, but I'm removing those). Better to change to CSS3 gradients with
 fallback as in the existing admin CSS?
