Comment:

 In 3.0: Default was 999, but it showed 20 when no option existed yet.

 In 3.1: Default was 20 and it showed 20.

 In 3.2: Default was 999 again, but 20 wasn't adjusted when no option
 existed.

 Let's consider this fixed for 3.3. I won't bother backporting.
