 Whew! I see that this bug has been crawling around for years!

 I sure hope that "Future Release" comes up soon -- like before 3.2!

 Even a plugin would be nice as a stop-gap. I see the patch, but am not
 sure where to insert it -- shows you how much I need the plugin or updated
 Wordpress release. ;)

 not make private pages hierarchial and posted in the Requests and Feedback
