 Posts and comments are not equivalent, so I don't see why they should be
 the same. If it is a slip-up and it causes a bug, somebody will run into
 it soon enough and report it.

 If we were to extend the default widgets to support custom post types, we
 would also have to introduce a new flag to register_post_type(), something
 like 'show_in_widgets'.
