 Related: #8553

 The site where I first ran into the problem was using a lot of shortcodes
 with no content and no parameters, so on the longer posts I just prevented
 shortcodes from processing and processed them with str_replace instead.
 Obviously not something that works everywhere, but I've been able to use
 the same basic approach on several sites now.
