I guess my biggest issue is that the larger text throws off the sense of
hierarchy on the menus (when in collapsed mode) since the menu headings
are not bold and are no longer any larger than the menu options.
It also causes some lines to wrap to another line because of the larger
text when they did not previously.
I have tried changing the default font size in Firefox. While it does seem
to affect some other sites (Google results, for example), it does not have
any noticeable bearing on the font size in WP 3.2.1's admin section.
