 In twentyten/style.css there's a width: auto property applied to the
 #content img selector, which means that in-editor resizing is ignored.

 To see for yourself, put the http://codex.wordpress.org/Theme_Unit_Test
 into a twentyten-themed wordpress and view the post called "Images Test".

 Commenting out the mentioned width: auto line seems to fix this.
