 Want to also point out that this removes an int cast on the
 $category/term_id. These were added in [15825] and did not previously
 exist. Keeping them out allows for the flexibility introduced here. My
 point is, a number as a string, such as '1', would have been treated as a
 slug in 3.0 too.
