 Hi trepmal, thanks for the comment.  The normal sortables area you're
 referring to is caused by 'do_meta_boxes'  , which is the source of
 problems for me too. My proposed do_action ( 'after_editor ' );  would fix
 that since it occurs before 'do_meta_boxes'.
