 I would also like to see this in core soon. Some oEmbed providers, such as
 Twitter, push a JavaScript include in the HTML of each embed. They offer a
 parameter to prevent that if you already have the script included, which
 many themes and plugins do for the "Retweet" buttons, but the oEmbed API
 in WordPress doesn't yet make it easy to disable. It would be useful for
 plugins to be able to not only define default arguments when registering
 an oEmbed provider, but to be able to modify them via a filter.

 (As an aside, I'm somewhat surprised nobody has filed a ticket to include
 Twitter in the oEmbed whitelist by default...)
