 I would definitely appreciate this change as well. I don't think it should
 strictly be necessary to expose the blog id, you could probably use a
 rewrite map or otherwise a separate filepath structure and rewrite rule
 depending on whether multisite was set up to use path, domain, or
 subdomains.
