 Could you give some more details on how you've lost that "long text"? For
 example: did you close the fullscreen mode from the Close button
 (top/right in the top menubar)?

 TinyMCE is set to raw copy/paste the content from the fullscreen to the
 "usual" editor on closing and on saving. Also the saving is done with XHR,
 so even if you close the browser after clicking on Save, the server will
 save the post.
