I don't think this is a problem.
Isn't that one of the arguments for this in the first place? That the
existing activation hook shouldn't be used, because it only works when
people upgrade plugins through admin. Ie it won't work when plugins are
update via FTP, etc
Now, we're replacing that with something that won't work in the same cases
(ie when a plugin is updated via FTP)?
Am I missing something here?
