Comment:

 I think this happened to a client recently,though not with "Read More..."
 A group of pages weren't appearing in menus and some changes to the slugs
 of these pages (in quick view) cured it. It seems though that WordPress is
 converting white space in a pasted title to a slug with illegal characters
 here. If so, it might be a more important issue?
