 +1 for this idea. "Content Type" or "post format" seems appropriate. "Post
 Type" really should have been "Object Type."

 I use Tumblr and there are seven content types/post formats: Text(Aside),
 Link, Quote, Chat, Photo, Audio, Video.

 At some point, I'd like to leave Tumblr because it is a hosted platform
 and I'd like more control/flexibility. I'd like to be able to seamlessly
 import my tumblelog into WordPress. Since there will be others in that
 situation, it makes sense to me to have out-of-the box support for those
 seven custom types... if not in core, then at least in a canonical plugin.
 A Tumblr importer is needed too, but that's a different topic.
