 There's a bit much extraneous code in the markup/css IMO, so I hashed
 together a quick demo of it with much simpler markup and CSS, smaller
 image sprite and with IE6 support:

 I don't know much about javascript so I've left out all of it apart from a
 suckerfish script to keep the dropdowns working in IE6.
