 My first reaction is wishing the formats were icons instead of text if
 they are going to be coupled in with the title and status. Realistically I
 know there's no time to come up with some kind of additional icon API for
 them, and icons come with a learning curve, etc... I could see merit in
 having it be a new column considering the ability to sort by post format
 and get a one click solution for that.

 Won't have access to code until Wednesday to offer a visual solution or
 contribute a patch, so take my opinions for what they're worth (which
 ain't much without a patch.)
