 Let's try that and see how much it reduces the zip size.

 In past versions the typical difference is size between WP & MU zips was
 ~100K.

 The bulk of the increased size is the images in TwentyTen. Total space
 used by the images is running in the range of 400K & the compression rate
 is very low on png images. Is there a way we could send out TwentyTen in
 WP with only the default image(s) and then offer an upgrade that includes
 the other images through WP.org extend?
