Comment(by ciscfs):

 I went back to 3.0 beta1 and verified again that the problem is not
 present in that version.  All it needs is a reload of the page, no need to
 bother about the browser cache.

 I've now upgraded to the nightly build, and the problem now manifests
 itself in both Safari and Firefox.

 I have also tested with Internet Explorer 8 under Windows, where the
 problem does not occur.

 For the version I am using, see below.  My timezone is GMT +0930.
