 I could not apply your patch because it was looking for this file path:
 Users/john/Documents/wordpress-trunk/wp-admin/css/colors-fresh.css

 I am uploading a new diff based on yours. Check if this works for you.
 I also changed the user_info links to #111 instead of #000.
