Comment:

 Menu items are stored in the posts table and menus are a taxonomy. Nothing
 is stored in the options table.

 Please don't clutter this ticket any more than it already is. We're not
 changing the storage schema. You can take this onto the wp-hackers mailing
 list if you'd like.
