 What about allowing an arbitrary prefix to the IDs?
 Instead of

 {{{
 <li id="menu-item-123">
 }}}

 I could define in the wp_nav_menu() arguments that I want them to read

 {{{
 <li id="header-menu-item-123">
 }}}
