 The question should be if {{{get_query_var()}}} should return query vars
 which have been specified explicitly in the Query, or if it should also
 return inferred/default values.

 As it is right now, I believe its following the expected behaviour, the
 post_type has not been specified explicitly, instead, its been inferred
 from a request pattern
