 While this code addition is obviously irritating forking the code is not a
 tenable solution. WordPress is already a difficult enough proposition to
 manage without starting to create forks for each new feature we wish was
 omitted. You then face a mammoth task keeping your fork up to date with
 the WordPress core.

 A better solution would be to get this feature working to a degree that
 satisfies the developers and the end users and that will only happen
 through negotiation and compromise.
