 A fairly buck-passing response from the hosting provider there I think.
 It's perfectly possible to use the installer on clustered hosting
 environments.  I know because I ran a WP site on one of them for more
 years than the auto-upgrader has existed for.

 Of course that doesn't preclude some obscure bug interacting with
 particular setups, but I think it's more likely that the host could fix
 it.
