 I experience this issue on several WordPress 3.0 installations. All are
 not fresh 3.0 install but upgraded 2.9.2 .

 When updating any plugin to a newer version, a "downloading.." message
 appears and.. browser freezes. Plugin gets deactivated and updated, but no
 success message is displayed. And the plugin is not activated again.

 Browser is Firefox 3.6.3 . Haven't test in other browser yet.
