Component:  Formatting    |     Version:  3.0
 Severity:  normal        |    Keywords:  has-patch

Comment(by johnjamesjacoby):

 You can remove this filter just like you can remove the 'pretty quotes'
 filter. I haven't heard many people complain about WordPress making their
 punctuation proper in a while.

 To me this isn't any different than the iPhone auto-correcting
 "iphone/iPhone" "ipad/iPad" "imac/iMac".

 Mark's patch filters text and doesn't break attachments, so I'm +1 Mark's

 The only reason I can think to revert this, is to be able to continue to
 tell which WordPress "professionals" actually know how to spell the
 platform they claim to use professionally.
