 mtekk, I've worked your diff2 into a <a
 href="http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/private-suite/">plugin</a> of
 mine that had a lot of other privacy-related features. Your later patch
 has better logic, but this one fixes the front end and the back end all at
 once. My code is clunky as hell, but I desperately needed to stop patching
 core and move this into a plugin.
