 LOL. That is rather obvious now that you point it out. Yes, a new function
 name is needed. It seems that wp_page_menu() may as well become
 depreciated in that case as it would become essentially useless now.
 Perhaps when add_theme_support() is used in the theme, the pages
 functionality of wp_page_menu() could be unhooked and the new function
 used instead. That way backwards compatibility with all the existing
 themes which use it will be in place.
