 Additional report: If an image was too large to create thumbnails from
 (image dimensions 4000x8000 e.g.) the image editor has problems as well.
 that scenario is not taken properly care of. No error displayed to the
 user. I would like to see at least an error box on top of the page to
 signal the user what might be wrong.
