 Not sure if this is exactly the correct place to post this, but it is
 highly related. Unless I'm missing something, there should be a way to
 specify when registering a custom taxonomy whether it should be treated
 similar to a tag or a category within a custom post screen. Meaning, I may
 have a taxonomy that I want to be selectable via checkboxes like a
 category, as opposed to an auto-completing textbox like a tag.
