Comment (by fob):

 Same problem here with one exception:

 - assigned static front page and static blog posts page
 - assigned custom post type
 - assigned taxonomies

 Results:

 - next_post_link works on blog posts page but not for custom post
 listings.
 - "the_title" returns post title of first post everywhere
