 I've just noticed that my patch mistakenly removes the munging of $domain.
 This turns out not to be an issue for multi-site installs not using
 subdomains but I guess maybe it is for those that are. I would guess that
 restoring it is a simple case of adding a second preg_replace line, or
 possibly even setting $domain later.
