Changes (by dd32):

Comment:

 Due to no traction on this, I'm moving this to 3.1 early.

 A few options have been outlined, including relying on edit_private_pages
 & read_private_pages, but i'm not sure any are actually solid for
 inclusion due to the change in output from the function in question.
