 Links created in "Links" in the admin should have their XFN data appended
 in a rel attribute. Kinda like the [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins
 /auto-xfn-ify/ Auto XFN-ify] plugin.

 But more importantly (and simpler), if a link goes out to a domain
 different from the one hosting wordpress, rel="external" should be added.
