 Oh, what the heck, might as well give all of this a purpose in 2.9. Patch
 allows registering a post type and having it appear in the menus as a new
 object type.  Taxonomies registered for the post type will also show in
 the menus.  edit-tags.php is not post_type aware, yet.  Drop post-type.php
 in mu-plugins to test.
