 After upgrading to Wordpress 2.8 b2 from 2.7.1, I had several php errors.
 I had to turn on PHP5 to get anything with the admin to load. As a result
 of turning PHP5 on, I had to make a php.ini file in each directory with
 settings for allow_url_include to be ON so that my php include() functions
 used in many of my themes would work.
