 That is perfect!  I've already written and tested the plugin to confirm
 that it works on broken install of libxml2 2.7.x:

 I've submitted it to the plugin directory and once it goes live there I'll
 include a link to it at the above page and on this ticket, along with
 another blog post on the subject.

 Once that plugin hits the plugin directory and everything looks good I'm
 going to close this ticket.
