 I dont see why you couldnt have a foriegn key.. They can be based on a
 Where column = 'blah' and ID = foriegn.id right?

 ..Proper indexes can include multiple columns too..

 No need for a huge number of tables, Only usermeta/postmeta are used at
 present, the others will have little usage for a few more revisions to
 come.. and i dont see the meta becoming a huge burden.
