 Hi, I'm just wondering if it makes sense to add in wpinc/functions.php
 some conditionals to give the priority of load_template for Feed Template
 from theme over default Feed Template?

 I prefer having something built-in than using remove_action()

 Hope this enhancement will be implemented.
