Comment:

 I'd suggest using wp_query->get_queried_object_id() directly instead of
 adding a new function. Also, can you double check that the str_replace of
 amps is needed? esc_url() would add the hex value instead, so it's
 presumably unnecessary.

 Suggesting we bring getting rid of RSS 0.92 up during the next IRC meet-
 up, too.
