Comment:

 Based on what I'm reading of the plugin, btw, I'm not surprised at all
 that it's broken. My own widget contexts plugin used a very similar
 approach, and it worked fine until WP 2.7.1. I had to rewrite it entirely,
 using a completely different approach, with 2.8.
