#8843: Admin user unable to author pages
--------------------------+-------------------------------------------------

 Priority: normal | Milestone: 2.8
Component: General | Version: 2.7
 Severity: normal | Keywords:
--------------------------+-------------------------------------------------
I had been creating pages without incident using the original admin
account that has Administrator level access. Once I created three
additional accounts with Editor level access, I no longer had the ability
to create or edit a page so that the author of the page was the admin
 user.

It appears that this problem has been traced to no user level being
defined (wp_user_level) in the database for the admin user upon
 installation.

It occurred in my installation which uses WordPress 2.7, PHP 5.2.5, MySQL
 5.0.45

It also appears to occur in WP versions 2.5.1, 2.6, 2.6.1 and 2.6.2, per
 the discussion (link below).

I apologize if someone has already reported this bug. There has been
discussion of this bug located here.
