 ok, I went and followed the instructions I found on the wordpress site to
 submit patches. I see resolution got moved to 3.0 which is satisfactory.
 The function I am using is verbatim from the 2.7 release and I am using it
 in a production site with 2.9 just fine so there is some testing. Thanks
 for your help.
